We’re still tracking unseasonably warm weather across Northeast Kansas. Early morning patchy fog will give way to mostly sunny skies…for the third straight day. Highs have a chance at 80°+ west of the Flint Hills, with breezy south winds gusting over 30mph at times – a continuous flow of warmer air from the Southern Plains, helping temps stay some 15°+ above average for this time of the year.
The warm and breezy weather continues through tomorrow, before cloud cover builds (again) into Thursday. Showers and storms will move back in during the day on Thursday. Locally heavy rain is possible for our counties to the south/east. This weather-maker will be a cold front, chopping highs back into the 50s as early as Friday – skies clearing with time to spare for the weekend. Expect wall-to-wall sunshine through early next week, with daytime temps in the 50s and 60s. Keep in mind, our seasonal average high is 62° for this time of the year – so those temperatures will be closer to reality by the end of the week. Besides Thursday, our next BEST chance for rain won’t be until next Tuesday/Wednesday. Stay tuned.
Have a great day!
